What happens on the party day?
On the day of your bouncy castle hire, we will attend to your home or party site and completely install the jumping castle. This includes a complete safety check. We will also take you through the operations of the castle and advise you in how to operate and supervise your children’s jumping castle party.
How much are the jumping castles ?

What happens if it RAINS?
All of our bouncy castles and slides have rain covers to allow your party to proceed even if it’s raining. We can offer you complimentary upgrades to more waterproof castles if bad weather is forcast. However should you feel it necessary to cancel your party or event due to rain we would ask that you give us as much notice as possible. We refund deposits paid (as long as you notify us before the day of your jumping castle hire). We are a family operated business and we understand that kids can get sick or family emergencies arise to prevent you from having a Jump First Jumping Castle hire. We will always refund deposits with advance notice from you. Deposits for cancelled bookings during Covid-19 restrictions will be transferred to future bookings (no time limits) and are subsequently not refundable. We will hold your booking until you are ready to re-book again.
Deposits and payment?
A small deposit is required when booking with us, we accept Visa and Mastercard or Internet banking transfers (EFT) – any time prior to the party day but cash only on the delivery day. We accept company cheques from corporate hirers only. Deposits for cancelled bookings during Covid-19 restrictions will be transferred to future bookings (no time limits) and are subsequently not refundable. We will hold your booking until you are ready to re-book again.
How much space will I require?
Our mini jumping castles are only 4 metres by 4 metres. We have always been able to install our mini jumping castles in everyone’s property. Installations can be on back or front yards and driveways should be considered if space is limited. Area should be free from overhead tree branches or other obstructions. We have newly designed castles that can be installed underneath carports or patios with 2.5m height clearance.
Our medium jumping castles require a minimum of 5 metres by 5 metres. It should be free of any overhead obstructions or tree branches.
Our Water Slides MUST be installed on grass or synthetic grass or good clean surfaces with good water drainage. Our Water Slides are Dedicated Water Slides with splash pools for great summer fun. Don’t be fooled by others who offer water slides in normal castles. These are not safe. When children jump up and down on jumping castles that are wet – they may trip or roll over on their ankles causing injury. Water Slides are just Slides – no jumping. Jump First Jumping Castles offer amazing new Water Slide hire in Adelaide – with a big range to suit most yards. We take safety seriously.
Please consider access to the proposed site e.g. steps, doorways, gates and slopes.
How long does it take to set up the jumping castle?
The jumping castle will be set up and dismantled by a Jump First Installer. It takes around 15 – 20 minutes to set up the jumping castle depending on the type of access. It takes around 20 minutes to dismantle the jumpy castle. The jumping castle should not be moved to any other location once installed by us. 1 metre minimum Access is required for installation. If this is not available we can sometimes access through your house with 800m door clearances – however this is not preferred. Castles weight in excess of 150 Kilos and cannot be lifted over fences or obstacles. Please advise us when booking if you have access issues, stairs, or steep driveways.
Does the jumping castle have to be on grass?
No, but please advise us at the time of booking if any part of the bouncy castle will be on a surface other than grass. We can install our jumping castles on artificial lawn, concrete driveways, paved area’s and inside halls or gyms, dirt or gravel. We install a tarp underneath all jumping castles for protection. Soft fall mats are also provided. Heavy weights are provided for anchorage on hard surfaces with pegs staked into the ground for installations on grass etc. Always check for underground pipes. A small fee is charged for hard surface installations.
Can I have a jumping castle indoors?
Yes, you can have a jumping castle indoors. Church halls, community centres and school halls and gym’s generally have plenty of room for a bouncy castle as will some garages. Please check with us first before booking. A small extra charge will apply for weighted blocks and soft fall mats for these types of jumping castle installations.
Jump First Jumping Castles have jumping castles exclusively made to fit underneath low ceilings like patios and verandah’s. Our Car Race Slide (water slide and dry slide) and our New Pirates Slide Combo are both only 2.5 metres high and will fit underneath low ceilings. Dimensions for all jumping castles for hire are detailed next to each featured castle.
Can I have a jumping castle in a public park?
Hire jumping castles in Public Parks in Adelaide require permission from local council authorities. Contact your local council for more information. Some councils may charge a small hire fee.
Some public parks may not have access to power. Jump First can provide our own power with a petrol blower/generator for the jumping castle hire for which there will be a small additional charge.
If you are having your jumping castle hire in a public place in Adelaide you may require a supervisor. We can provide you with a price for one of our fully trained supervisors as part of our initial quotation. Our staff are professionally trained and present in corporate uniform and are trained in all aspects of supervision and safety aspects of children on our jumping castles. Our staff hold current police clearances and DCSI Clearances for working with children and we hold 20 Million Public Liability Insurance. Certificates of compliance can be forwarded on request.
You may even like to have one of our trained supervisors attend your backyard party to allow the adults to fully enjoy the event without the need to watch the jumping castle and the kids.
Does someone need to supervise the operation of the jumping castle?
Yes, a responsible adult over 18 years of age must supervise the jumping castle at all times. There will be training given in the operating instructions for the bouncy castle on the day of the hire. You can hire one of our trained supervisors.
Corporate events and Christmas Picnics, School Fetes and Markets, garage sales, car boot sales in Adelaide
You may require one of our trained supervisors for corporate events or school fetes or public carnivals and events in Adelaide. We carry 20 Million in Public Liability (which all councils require) and certificate of compliances will be forwarded upon confirmation of bouncy castle hire booking.
What power is required for the jumping castle?
A power point (240volt) should ideally be available within 25 metres of the jumping castle. It can be an absolute maximum of 50 metres before you will require a petrol blower for which there will be a small additional charge. Jump First Jumping Castles meet electrical standards with qualified testing and taging of all our electrical equipment every 6 months to comply with safety standards.
Can I have a jumping castle on a slope?
Slopes can be OK but please check with us first as some people can be overly cautious and rule out a perfectly acceptable site. Safety will always be our highest priority. Send us a photo if you are in doubt. Always happy to recommend the best for your bouncy castle party.
Jumping castle safety
All equipment is manufactured, operated and maintained in accordance with the Australian Standards which is the most comprehensive standard in the world. Jump First Jumping Castles always operate within requirements of Safework SA. We are members of AALARA – Australian Amusement Assocation. Our castles are inspected annually in accordance with Australian Safety Standards. Jump First Jumping Castles always put safety first. We design our own inflatables with manufacturers to meet strict safety standards. Jump First own design registrations with Safework SA for our own exclusively designed jumping castles and slides.
Do you have insurance?
We carry $20,000,000.00 in Public Liability Insurance with accredited Lloyds of London. Please let us know if you require a copy of our certificate of currency.
Can I hire a jumping castle on weekday?
Yes – absolutely! After-school parties or Kindy and Playgroup Parties are very popular. Special discounted rates apply for indoor centres 2 day overnight hires and/or weekly hires.
Can I hire bouncy castles after dark (at night)?
Yes, however we require good lighting to allow excellent visibility of children on the castle. Jump First can hire overnight in secure backyards with no public access. A Small additional fee will apply for overnight hires. It is not safe to operate jumping castles when poor visibility restricts safe supervision of children.
